Ranipuram Hill Station -Parappa Block Panchayath, Kasaragod

Ranipuram Hill Station is the highest hill station in Kasaragod district and one of the most beautiful ecotourism destinations in North Kerala. It is popularly known as the "Ooty of Kasaragod" because of its cool climate, rolling grasslands, and mist-covered hills.  Ranipuram was formerly known as Madathumala. The name was changed to Ranipuram during the 1970s. The area forms part of the Western Ghats and shares ecological connections with the forests of Coorg and the Talacauvery Wildlife Sanctuary in Karnataka.

  • Trekking Information

  • Total trekking distance (up and down): Approximately 5 km.
  • Best visiting season: October to March.
  • Trekking timings are generally from morning until afternoon.
  • Visitors are advised to wear trekking shoes and carry water and basic first-aid supplies. During the monsoon season, leeches and slippery trails are common.
